Happy about major order
VS-Tannheim (wur) Lined up in one row they would reach 1,6 miles: the 1400 desks which from October 2009 will be delivered to no less than 58 different German government public authorities from the manufacturer of ergonomic office furniture BZ Plankenhorn.
1,6 miles, this would be – seen from the outskirts – half way from Tannheim to Pfaffenweiler. Exactly at the edge of Tannheim the company which is run by Ralf Weniger since 11 years manufactures and sells height adjustable tables.
Once again they succeeded to win such a big order against strong competitors. “The whole European office furniture industry participated”, the Managing Director reviewed on the challenge which 16 competitors took part. Recently the good news came from the purchasing department of the Ministry of the Interior: The Tannheim company founded in 1948 may supply 1400 electric height adjustable desks of the LIBERO® range.
For more than one year these workplaces will be produced, assembled and delivered to the various destinations where they will be distributed to the users in the offices.
The order runs from October 2009 until September 2010. The tables don’t look always the same: No less than 56 versions make the table in the catalogue almost individual finishs. The required version will be configured online and transmitted to the manufacturer.
“This is the biggest individual order in the company’s history”, the 45-year old Business Manager classified the latest success. The company can look ahead confident in spite of the general economic crisis. The government order provides a good basic workload in the next few months. “This year we can reach a binary increase in turnover”, the Manager added.
BZ Plankenhorn shows well positioned on the market with a further bid acceptance. The Higher Regional Court of Brandenburg also ordered 176 LIBERO® tables in the mid of July.
With his team he is able to play in the office furniture Premier League. This Mr. Weniger from Villingen had proved five years ago when he could manufacture high-class workplaces for the renowned watch manufactory “Vacheron Constantin” in Geneva. Smooth inlay works and technical sophistication in and on the 220 kg workbenches found therespect of both the competitors and the public.
